Suzaku Profile

This is Suzaku Seikun, the god Suzaku himself. Though Suzaku is depicted as a red phoenix, this is how his human form looks like.

Suzaku no Miko - The Priestess - Miaka

Miaka has an elder brother, Keisuke and a strict mother. In her home world, she is an average student who was constantly pressured by her mother to do well in her exams. She is a glutton, always stuffing herself full whenever there is food. This weakness was used by her enemies against her (tempt her into traps). She has a big heart, always caring about others, especially Yui, even when Yui turned against her. Eventually, half of her Warriors fell for her, notably Tamahome & Hotohori. But she has only Tamahome in her heart. Has to overcome a lot of obstacles to be with him, especially the fact that he is only a character from a book.

Celestial Warrior - Tamahome

The first Suzaku Warrior that Miaka met. The first impression that you'll get from Tamahome is that he is very money-faced and selfish. Well, he's actually kind and caring. He's very into making money because he has to support his family, being the eldest of five children at the age of 18. His mother had passed away and his father is sick. Did not get along well with Miaka at first, but later realized how important she was to him when she returned to her world. His special abilities are his superb martial arts skill. He fights very well, but fights even better when Miaka's in danger. Has a demon mark on his forehead that flashes whenever he is engaged in a battle. His archenemy is no one other than Nakago of the Seiryuu Seven.

Celestial Warrior and Emperor of Konan - Hotohori

The fourth emperor of the Konan Empire, Emperor Saihitei, otherwise known as Hotohori, after one of the constellations of Suzaku. Hotohori ascended the throne when he was still very young. Grew up believing in the prophesy that a girl from another world would save his kingdom, he was already in love with Miaka even before he met her. He was a lonely man, taking no interest in the women in his harem (his excuse to his officials was that he was prettier than all of them), hoping that the prophesied girl would love him as a person, not as an emperor. Miaka mistook him as a girl when they first met (hillarious). Most of the times, he acts very vain, thinking very  highly of his looks. But he is very caring towards Miaka and the other warriors, for they had brought color into his life. Even though he loves Miaka, he was willing to back off because he knows that Miaka loves Tamahome only. He bears the star mark on his neck. His special abilities are his fencing and sword skills.

Celestial Warrior - Nuriko

One look at him, and you would think of him as a pretty girl. Well, surprise... it's a HE. In the first few episodes, Nuriko appears as an imperial concubine who was in love with Hotohori (who does not pay attention to his concubines), and dislikes Miaka (because she gets Hotohori's attention). But it later turned out that Nuriko was in fact, a GUY, who loves to dress up as a woman (cross-dresser). The reason why he dresses up as a woman was revealed later in the series, something that had to do with the death of his younger sister, Kourin. His real name is Ryuen, and has the willow mark on his collar bone. His special ability is his inhuman strength, which allows him to lift up rocks and bash up walls. He is very funny, and noble. He cares a lot about his comrades and Miaka, and is willing to sacrifice his life for them.

Celestial Warrior & The Masked Monk - Chichiri

Chichiri was the fourth Celestial Warrior that Miaka found. He is a monk who wears a smiling mask to hide the scar on his face (can you see it?). He had a tragic past, where his best friend stole his fiancée away from him. His fiancée committed suicide, and Chichiri accidentally murdered his best friend (which was how he got the scar). But he is definitely the cutest and funniest among the Seven, always ending his sentences with 'no da?'. He only takes off his mask when he is serious (then he's cool). His mark, is on his knee. He is indeed the most powerful one among the Seven Warriors, for he is a magician, with the ability to cast spells and barriers. He can also transform himself into another person, and can teleport himself and other people using his 'kasa' (his blue monk cloth). He is also able to detect the enemy's life force, warning his comrades of a coming engagement.

Celestial Warrior & Leader of the Bandits of Mt Reikaku - Tasuki

Miaka met this unruly bandit when Hotohori, Nuriko and her were captured and brought to Mount Reikaku, a bandits' haven. He was called Genroh, who was suppose to be the leader of the bandits when their late leader passed away. Unfortunately, he was not around when the leader died, and one of the bandits took advantage. Miaka helped him to regain the leadership, unaware that he was in fact one of the Celestial Warriors. He eventually revealed himself, and left Mount Reikaku to his best friend to join Miaka on her journey. He has the mark on his right arm. His special ability is his iron fan, which is used to create fire and to burn down his opponents. He is also a master brawler, although not as good as Tamahome (got beaten before). Very rough and noisy, constantly squabbling with Tamahome. A very colorful character who claims that he hates women (some 'tragic' past), but has an honorable heart, and is loyal to his friends and his Priestess.

Celestial Warrior & Healer - Mitsukake

Miaka met Mitsukake when she became ill after she caught the plague in a village, while searching for the Celestial Warriors. The plague in the village was caused by a demon that possessed a woman named Shoka. Turns out that Shoka was in fact Mitsukake's lover, but she had died while Mitsukake was away to treat someone. After her death, Mitsukake became a very sad person, throwing away his responsibility as a healer, and he even refused to treat Miaka. Mitsukake then decided to confront Shoka, who was possessed by the demon after she died in pain and in loneliness, without her beloved by her side. This part of the story was so sad that I ended up sobbing a bucketful. Mitsukake bears the mark on his palm, and has healing powers. He is a big, silent and a no-nonsense man. Although his gift is a big advantage to the Suzaku Seishi, he is only able to heal people (no matter in what condition, except must be still alive) once a day. He owns a cat called Tama, who often pops out out of nowhere.

Celestial Warrior - Chiriko

Chiriko appeared rather late in the series, showing up as a 13-year-old boy (yes, a boy) with lots of brains. He is very smart, passing the government exams at such a tender age. He is able to play music by blowing a leaf (i haf no idea how). He has the mark on his foot. To be honest with you, there isn't much about Chiriko... so I don't know that much about him.
